Rating: PG-13

Characters: Jason Todd, Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, Barbara Gordon, mention of others

Word Count: 6259

So, I am reorganizing my "pairing" tags to say "ship" instead, because it occurred to me that a lot of my "pairings" are OT3 and OT3+. Which look silly as "pairing," so they are being changed to sooth my mild OCD.

It occurs to me that I write a lot of really weird ships, and ships I don't even really like that much at times (not to bash, because doing that is terrible. Simply to explore.) If I felt like examining that beyond "Pervy is weird," I would write meta about that urge.

Instead, let's tackle this week's [livejournal.com profile] fannish5Name five kickass female characters.

Really? Just Five?  )

Also, last week's (yes, yes, I CHEAT.)

Name the 5 most interesting fictional journeys.

Oh, I think we'll stick with comics this time. )

And, now back to fixing tags.

PS, Gloria, tomorrow I will have up my remix fic. Pinkie swear.
zarabithia: (pride: queer legs)
1.  So, the lgbtfest fic that I have been working on for three weeks has surpassed 7000 words. There is finally an end in sight, but it's still a terribly long fic that I'm not entirely sure works? I mean, it works in my head, and it works in my beta's head, but I'm not sure if it will connect in anyone else's mind (because my beta, of course, has been listening to me bitch about it for three weeks now.)

Part of the reason that I'm so nervous about it is because that it frankly says things about the biphobia and homophobia that have cropped up in unexpected places (namely, people and communities I read often) in the past month or so...and I don't feel badly about that, because that's part of the purpose of having a community like lgbtfest. But still.

Also, it's 7000 words of present tense. About a minor, rare-ish pairing. With lots of unhappy and miserable. So... lol, no one is going to read this fic. Which is okay! But amusing. Because this is the longest I have ever spent on any fic ever.

2.  A thing of note: I really like this blog post about Barbara Gordon & some of the ableism rhetoric that gets tossed around when discussing why it is "TERRIBLE" that she hasn't regained her ability to walk. There is, of course, major fail in the comments. Here's a clue: if you have to start your comment with "I don't want to sound like a major dick here, but I probably will," it's a safe bet you are a grade A dick.

3. Another thing of note: over on dreamwidth, they are having a Racebending Revenge Ficathon. Mission Statement: "Re-write one or more white characters in the fandom(s) of your choice as chromatic/non-white/PoC, in a story of at least 500 words, with some acknowledgment of how the racial difference would make a difference to the story being told."

4. Despite the fact that I have fics to write for people, fics to write for kink_bingo and am not quite finished with my lgbtfest fic of doom, I signed up for [livejournal.com profile] hc_bingo. Because I have no concept of time management. Here's my card:

Choosing will be the difficult part )

If any of the prompts scream a particular pairing/threesome/moresome, feel free to offer a suggestion. I can't promise anything, but I might be able to work something in. :)

Title: Stares Back at You

Not mine. I really wouldn't do this to them if they were.

Dick. Dick paired with everyone, including Babs, Bruce, Slade, Ollie, Arthur, Roy, Garth, Wally, Barry, Poison Ivy. Also includes Jason/Bruce and corruptions of every single DCU mentor/sidekick pairing that you likely hold near and dear to your heart.

: [livejournal.com profile] coldfiredragon wanted something dark with Dick for her birthday. I did my best to grant that wish. Happy very belated birthday, [livejournal.com profile] coldfiredragon.

It all began with the circus, and ended with his own mansion. That much was true. The rest of the story? Not so much.

Author's Notes/Warnings Rape, Child Abuse, Child Rape, Incest are all mentioned. Very a/u. This is not my view of the Justice League or any of the members.

I have spent the night trying to get caught up on the flist and on comments/emails/pms that I owe people from the last week and a half. If I missed something important, let me know and I'll try to get to it. I plan to spend today working on birthday presents, working on the Cap mood theme of doom, and finishing up some random other fictional responsibilities in honor of being off today. But first!

April Fools' Day Meme:

Today is the day for sheer ridiculousness. Give me 1-3  of the crackiest, most outrageous, least likely to ever actually happen pairings and/or scenarios you can think of, and I'll write you a snippet of at least one of them.

1. That time that Mary Jane Watson and Jason Todd bonded over blueberry pie. In Smurf village.
2. Barry Allen/Dick Grayson, Gotham's weariest knight stops by a lowly school teacher's cabin during a storm.
3. Steve Rogers/James Kirk/Lex Luthor, In the mirror universe humans must stick together.  Literally.
4. Shayera Hol (JLU)/Roy Harper (DCU)/Bucky Barnes, It took a trip back in time to a 1920s diner in a universe that wasn't his own for Roy to find a Hawkgirl who wanted him and an ex-sidekick who wouldn't leave him.
