Dear Writer

Hi! Thanks for writing fic for me! First, let me say that I like everything from gen to hardcore consensual kinky porn. If it's in your heart to write some ABO knifeplay/watersports/breathplay, go ahead. If you want them to sit around and play chess and pet the dog, that's fine. I like character interactions best, whether romantic or not. 'Shipper fic is good, but so is gen.

I also like all of these comics equally, though I realize I wrote more elaborate things about some more than the others. I LOVE THEM EQUALLY. Any of them will thrill me. I've done a lot of ficathons, so feel free to check the Dear Challenge Writer Tag if you need more inspiration.

Some specifics:

- Steve/Tony, Bucky/Natasha

- Non-con, Dub-Con (Exceptions: Sex Pollen, Pon Farr, Aliens Made Us Do It, which are fine with me. NOT exceptions: Boddice Ripper like scenarios where suddenly the victim likes it, drunk!Sex)

- The following gendered words: bitch, slut, whore (or slut-shaming in general.) If someone is casually calling someone a bitch or a slut in a story, I'm closing the tab.

Other things I don't like, but aren't dealbreakers:

- "We woke up gay" or "only gay for you." or "gay the whole time and the women i dated didn't mean anything/were just beards."
-OTPs that get in the way of characters moving on and having healthy adult relationships with other people.
-Slave A/Us that have abolition movements. Don't apologize for your kink.
-The following a/us I don't really care about: school, werewolf, regency, coffee shop.
-Homophobia/bi-phobia/racism/ableism in canon characters who have never before displayed it.
-Casual Drug Use. Alcohol is fine, but I don't want to read about characters doing weed (or harder drugs) together.

Things I like:

- AUs (alternate characterizations and situations; sex between alternates of one character or between different characters; alternates as catalysts for realization of desire; role reversal; darker mirror universe characters; mistaken identity, hooker/brothel a/us, Alpha/Beta/Omega Universes and D/s Universes)
-Aftermath: of arguments, of the apocalypse, of battles. Bullet proof kink.
-Curtain Fic/Domesticity
- Sexual discovery (of one's orientation; of new kinds of pleasure; of one's partner)
- Talking and communication issues (dirty talk or verbal seduction; ACCENTS, sweet talking; reciting poetry; talking someone to orgasm; talking during sex; pillow talk; phone sex; speech becoming broken as one is aroused or upset; being inarticulate or articulate; aphasia; talking fast; miscommunication and misunderstandings in general; lack of a shared language, keeping quiet while having sex, someone's next door and need to keep it down, being restrained only by command, etc, etc.)
- You and Me Against the World.
-Aliens Made Us Do It or Sex Pollen or Pon Farr.
-Bisexuality and Poly Lifestyles.
-Marvel/DC Crossovers
-People having sex with Captain America. Even if they have to cross universes/timelines to do it.

Specific fandoms:

A-Babies Vs. X-Babies (Bucky Bear, Steve)

The thing I love about this is the fact that Bucky Bear is just as much Steve's main priority in this universe as Bucky is Steve's in the 616 verse. I love the cuteness of the verse, and the way it allowed everyone to be themselves while still being babies (or bears.) I am okay with Bucky Bear staying a bear, and I also am okay with him being turned into a real boy. Feel free to incorporate any of the baby Avengers, deal with Bucky Bear's trauma after his "kidnapping," or include characters who were not in the comic into this verse. Crossovers are cool, too.

Things I'd rather not have: any mention of Steve/Tony, Bucky Bear being given to anyone else, sad Velveteen Rabbit endings.

Additional details: I am in this fandom for happy feels, basically. If you want to give a little angst on the way to a happy ending, that's fine! I'm just not here for "And then they never saw each other again." I enjoy the deep feelings Steve has for his favorite toy in this verse, and if you want to age Steve up and perv it up and make it a Steve/Bucky thing, that's fine. I don't care if you turn him human or not for porn because I have no actual shame. I am also entirely happy with platonic little Steve and Bucky.

Fandom #2: Avengers (Comics) (Scott Lang, Janet Van Dyne)

I really like both of these characters, and I feel like they don't get to interact enough! I am okay with either setting this in the pre-Dissassembled Era or the post-Children Crusade's Era. I am okay with sad for this, because CASSIE, but I am also okay if Scott and Jan are just watching What Not to Wear and arguing about whose marriage was a bigger disaster. For Scott, I like his history with Tony (and I ship Tony/Scott and Scott/Rhodey and Scott/Clint and Scott/Jack of Hearts). For Jan, I prefer her history with Hank to be kept in the past, though I do like them as friends. If you want to go in a shippy direction with Jan/Scott, that's cool, and Jan/Scott/Hank is the one instance in which I'd be okay with any form of Jan/Hank.

Things I don't want: Cassie's mom, imo, was pretty abusive, and I'm not really interested in a story in which she is portrayed as misunderstood or a victim. I'm also not interested in Jan/Hank by itself.

Additional details: I feel like I should mention that I like Hank Pym a lot? Scott is my favorite Ant-Man, but I am fond of Hank. I prefer his Avengers Academy personality the most, but I do like him. If you want to include him, feel free. If you don't want to include him, feel free. If you want to include Cassie that's great! If you want to write me fic where Cassie's death is dealt with that's awesome. If you want to write me fic that actually deals with the fact that Purple Man sexually assaulted Scott in Alias, that'd actually be amazing. If you just want to write fluffy times between Jan and Scott, that is equally amazing. These two are neglected a lot, so anything you want to write is amazing.

Fandom #3: Captain America (any)

I love all of these characters, and I love them in all possible ship possibilities between the four of them. You can include any combination of Bucky, Sam, Sharon, and Steve in platonic or shipping and I will love it. I'm okay with any of the characters together or alone, and I'm okay with them at any point in their timeline.

Things I'm not interested in: Steve/Tony, Bucky/Natasha, bashing of Sharon/Steve or any implication that they are "unhealthy."

Additional details: The four characters who were nominated are four of my very favorite people in comics. If you want to write shippy fic, go for it. If you want to write porn, go for it. If you want to include characters or timelines that occurred before Brubaker or after Brubaker, I am familiar with them, so feel free. I do not Hold Brubaker as the Sacred Writer of All Things Cap. If you want to include Bernie Rosenthal, that would actually be amazing. If you want to include Rikki, that's great. If you want to include the Invaders, that's also great. If you do just want to focus on Bru's run, that's fine, too! I feel like I have repeated myself a lot here in saying "I love them; do what you want," but man, my love for these four is so over the top that really. Do what you want.

Fandom #4: Hawkeye (Kate, Clint)

The thing I love most about this series is that Kate is an equal (if not better) and that Clint's mistakes are clearly his fault, which has always been the case, just rarely admitted. I loved their interaction when they were on the same coast, and I love that Kate is discovering herself and I love that she will not put up with his shit to the detriment of her own well-being, because no lady should. I adore that they have a complicated custody arrangement with their dog. I do ship it, but it's cool if you don't. I also love that we are going to address deaf issues, because that's awesome.

Things I don't want: fic that has Kate not an adult woman capable of making her own choices, fic that bashes Clint/Kate as a pairing, fic that bashes age differences, fic that has Clint as Kate's "father figure." I like their platonic relationship just fine if that's what you want them to be, but I cannot handle Clint as her dad because that is so not the comic I am reading.

Additional details: I feel like I should also add that I do not ship Clint/Coulson in any universe. In fact, I do not want Coulson anywhere near my Hawkeyes. Kate Bishop is also flawless, and I'm not interested in reading about her "stealing" anyone's dog. I'm also not really interested in Barney at all. I also only ship Clint/Bobbi in the past tense, though Bobbi herself is amazing and can absolutely show up if you like. Kate/everyone is my ship, though, if you want to go in a shippy direction. But I mostly would prefer Kate and Clint's relationship to be the focus, whether you make it platonic or shippy.

Fandom #5: Invaders (Any)

I like all of these characters and if you want to ship them, I am happy with Steve/Bucky, Steve/Jim Hammond, Steve/Toro, Steve/Toro/Bucky, Steve/Toro/Bucky/Jim. I'm not really interested in Bucky/Toro by themselves. I am also okay with fic that explores any of the characters individually. You can set this in WWII or in the present. I am liking the current Invaders book just fine. Feel free to Include Jacqueline, if you like!

Things I don't want: Toro/Bucky, Bucky/Natasha, Steve/Tony, Toro/Ann

Additional details: I am very happy with any of these characters. I don't care about which character you choose to write about, and I don't care when in the timeline you choose to set it. If you do want to write Bucky and Toro hanging out as friends, that's fine! I'm just interested in romance between them unless someone else joins them. Their friendship is pretty great, though. :) I also just really like the fact that present day Ann moved on and didn't mourn a dead dude for the rest of her life, so please respect that if you include Toro or the present day. Also, if you want to write wild A/U where Wonder Woman was an Invader, that's super cool too.

Fandom #6: Flash (Barry)

I basically just have an unholy love for Barry Allen. You can write him doing science, being a detective, having smutty times, sighing at Hal, having smutty times, I don't care. I also don't care if it is pre or post reboot, even though I am partial to post reboot for Barry. But pre reboot Barry is love too. I love Barry with Ralph, Sue, Hal, Iris, and Dinah Lance. Also with Piper.

Things I don't care for: I like Barry's relationship with Wally, but I don't really want fic that focuses on Wally.

Additional details: Anything from Silver Age to post Reboot is okay with me! If you wanted to deail with Barry finding out about the death of his twins, that would be amazing. I will add that I really hate when people make Barry a backwards, homophobic, racist, asshole because he was written in the 50s. It is an automatic back-button. The entire reason I have "making people homophobic when they have never displayed such a trait in canon" in my list of do not wants is because of Terrible Barry Allen Characterization. Barry is my favorite DC character, and I love him dearly. I do not want to read about how he is terrible. (Also I realize now that I wrote smutty times twice in my signup. That was an accident. Sorry!) Also, I ship Barry with Everyone. Also, there is a random "Barry fights in WWII" a/u comic, so if you wanted to casually cross him over to Marvel, that'd be fine. :) If you didn't want to, that'd also be great.
zarabithia: (Default)
Hi, Yuletide writer! Thanks for writing me a fic! You already have awesome tastes in characters and fandoms, so congrats on that! I am also a pretty big believer in Optional Details Are Optional.

Things that I like in ficRecs on Pinboard | Recs on AO3 | My Adventures in Good Fic tag on tumblr (there is also an Adventures in Bad Fic tag if you are curious about things that make me want to punch people through the Internet. It is, as you may suspect, not a nice tag.) | Other Dear Challenge Writer Posts I Have Written Over the Years.

In general: I am all about the ship fic, both reading and writing it. BUT if you are a gen writer, that is awesome, because what I really love is character interactions. You could write me 1000 words of Character A and Character B arguing platonically over whether broccoli should be cooked or eaten raw and as long as you use it as an opportunity to highlight their interactions. If you do like shippy things, I love: het/slash/femslash/poly arrangements.

Things I like:

  • AUs (alternate characterizations and situations; sex between alternates of one character or between different characters; alternates as catalysts for realization of desire; role reversal; darker mirror universe characters; mistaken identity, hooker/brothel a/us).
  • Alpha/Beta/Omega Universes and D/s Universes. I do like Alpha/Beta/Omega and D/s universes, if that floats your boat. For ABO, I prefer the focus on the dynamics, really, and less on the magically lubricating assholes and SEMEN SEMEN EVERYWHERE. Though if you want to give me ALL THE PORN in the ABO verse, that's cool. If th is hits your kink, I'd really like an ABO fic that explored how non-penetrative sex factors in, be it for girls or guys. Because I've never actually read an ABO fic where someone has oral sex, and that seems weird to me.
  • Aftermath: of arguments, of the apocalypse, of battles. Bullet proof kink.
  • Amnesia
  • Daemons
  • Backstory
  • Curtain Fic/Domesticity
  • Kinks: I also like vanilla sex! And cuddling. And chilling on the couch. I'm not very fond of scat, vomit play, or puppy play, but if you wanted to write about the aftermath taking care of each other portion of the kink or the negotiation of the kink, I'd be fine with those things being included. I don't want to read anyone kink-shaming in the story. It's cool if say, John Taylor thinks that scat is gross, because kinks are personal thinks, but I don't want to read 1000 words of him telling Simon LeBon that his kink is gross.
  • Sexual discovery (of one's orientation; of new kinds of pleasure; of one's partner)
  • Talking and communication issues (dirty talk or verbal seduction; ACCENTS, sweet talking; reciting poetry; talking someone to orgasm; talking during sex; pillow talk; phone sex; speech becoming broken as one is aroused or upset; being inarticulate or articulate; aphasia; talking fast; miscommunication and misunderstandings in general; lack of a shared language, keeping quiet while having sex, someone's next door and need to keep it down, being restrained only by command, etc, etc.)
  • Scars or scarification. Oh, god, so much. Especially if the other person is turned on by them and/or they come from biting.
  • You and Me Against the World.
  • Women who are competent and love other women, either platonically or not.
  • Aliens Made Us Do It or Sex Pollen or Pon Farr.
  • Bisexuality and Poly Lifestyles.
  • People having sex with Captain America. Even if they have to cross universes/timelines to do it.
  • Relationships in all their forms: this can mean explicit porn if that's what moves you as a writer, but it can also mean chilling on the couch and watching a movie with snark and popcorn.
  • Age differences
  • Touch-starved characters
  • holiday fic (not required, but I am cool with it if you do!)
  • If you're a gen writer: I like battle aftermaths, bonding, snark, and obvious affection between characters, even if it's not sexual.

Things I don't like as much:
  • "We woke up gay" or "only gay for you." or "gay the whole time and the women i dated didn't mean anything/were just beards." Relatedly: referring to same sex relationships as "gay," especially when the character is/has the potential to be bi/pansexual.
  • OTPs that get in the way of characters moving on and having healthy adult relationships with other people.
  • The following gendered words: bitch, slut, whore (or slut-shaming in general.)
  • Slave A/Us that have abolition movements. Slave a/us are fine, but keep to the kink, please.
  • The following a/us I don't really care about: school, werewolf, regency, coffee shop.
  • Homophobia/bi-phobia/racism/ableism in canon characters who have never before displayed it.
  • Casual Drug Use. Alcohol is fine, but I don't want to read about characters doing weed (or harder drugs) together.
  • Genderswap.
  • "Case" fic or "action" fic. I prefer characterization bits to that, to be honest. For ex, if you are writing about superheroes, I can read comics to see them beat up bad guys. It's not really what I look for in fic.
  • Fic that is obviously trying to "fix" the canon. For ex, I know that Sweet Valley is an awful place where only perfect size 6 blonde virgin heterosexual girls are allowed to be happy ... but I don't want to read 1000 words of "THIS BOOK SERIES SUCKS LET ME SHOW YOU HOW MORE PROGRESSIVE I AM THAN FRANCINE PASCAL." Good Lord, I hope you are more progressive than Francine Pascal. Otherwise, I suspect John Boehner signed up for Yuletide and that makes me sad.

Onto the fandoms themselves:  I love EVERY SINGLE FANDOM EQUALLY. If I word vomit more about some than others, please don't take it to mean that I love one of the fandoms more than the others, because I really, really don't. I love everyone in this bar, dude.

Request 1: Duran Duran  (John Taylor)

So I've been shipping John Taylor with everyone since I first watched the original Duran Duran Behind the Music, but I recently watched the updated Behind the Music and read his book, and wow, I ship everything even harder. I'm especially intrigued with his relationships with Nick (and the repairing that he says they had to do of their friendship in the book) and the fact that he has apparently spent many nights in the LeBon home. The original Behind the Music forever gave me the impression that there is some dislike but grudging respect of Warren on John's behalf, so I'd be up for that ship too. If you don't want to write ship fic, general 80s debauchery or dealing with the lack of 80s debauchery on the reunion tour would be fine.

If you're a shipper: John/Nick, John/Simon, John/Roger, John/Niles, and fucked up and unhealthy Warren/John (possibly with hatesex) are all things I ship. I also ship all possibly ot3/4/5 combinations of John, Nick, Simon, Roger, and Yasmin. Yasmin/Simon/John is lovely, too.  John is my favorite band member and I am just happy when he is getting laid. Alternately, I am happy when he is being thoughtful about his sobriety. Alternately, I am happy when he is being a petty asshole, because sometimes he remembers that he is a rockstar.

I like Renee, I respect Amanda, and I like Gela a lot. I really don't want to read any bashing of any of the women in of their lives (yes, that includes Amanda and Julie). Otherwise, I am a huge 80s nerd, and if you want to crossover with any bands from the period (Boy George's continual snarking on Duran and his one time neighbor in John Taylor amuses the shit out of me.) I will be okay with that. I am cool with a/us! Maybe you want to write a bookshop a/u where John and Nick are trying to steal  away the competition bookstore's manager because even as a bookstore owner, Boy George is a petty asshole! Or maybe it's a vampire a/u where Nick left John with this newly turned Warren AND NO, JOHN DOES NOT WANT TO TEACH HIM THE WAY OF BEING A VAMPIRE, SO FUCK YOU, NICK.

Things I like about John Taylor: Casually leaving Andy out of the end of his book, lol (I like Andy! But I still laughed.), the fact that he called his website "Trust The Process." The fact that he pretty much admits that his childhood left him wanting for nothing. The fact that he worked so hard for his sobriety and is still working on behalf of others trying to get sober. The fact that being a dad means a lot to him.

Sweet Valley High - Francine Pascal   (Jeffrey French, Aaron Dallas)

To be honest, I ship it. I ignore everything that happened after "In Love Again" in the Sweet Valley High books, except for the fact that they made Steven and Aaron gay, which I thought was awesome. But my first OTP was Aaron/Jeffrey. Maybe Aaron discovers his sexuality while he is in therapy for his anger issues, or maybe they end up going to college to play soccer together and go from roommates to more. If you want to write gen, that's cool! I also like Liz/Jeffrey or Olivia/Jeffrey.

Additional details: If I'm perfectly honest, Jeffrey French was my favorite character in the entire Sweet Valley High books. I loved him from Taking Sides to Brokenhearted. (Senior Year does not exist, and no, he was never a DJ. I live in denial!) I adored his relationships with Elizabeth, Olivia, and Aaron, and the one with Aaron always reads as pretty slashy to me. So I'd love 'ship fic between the two of them.

If you're not into that, that's awesome too. I always loved their soccer shenanigans, if you want to focus on that instead. Or their ongoing struggles with chemistry. Or maybe you want to write college shenanigans (I ignore the Sweet Valley University books, too! My denial is strong.) Or maybe you want to deal with Aaron's home and family life, because I'm pretty sure they dropped that plot like a hot potato after one book.

Notes: I am absolutely Team Elizabeth, and Jessica and Lilah are my least favorites. So feel free to include whatever book characters you like, but please don't bash Elizabeth.

Food Allergies (Anthropomorfic)   (Gluten, Soy, Nightshade Vegetables, Dairy)

This is my crack request! But oh, this year I have basically discovered that I am allergic to all of these things, and this requires me to be as fanatical about my food choices as I am about fandom, so it totally counts as a fandom to me! Gluten is obviously a supervillain in my mind, though tomatoes and other nightshades may be on the fence between good and evil. In fact, the others may be trying to draw Nightshades into their web. Alternately, Gluten is the Textbook Nice Guy and the others are trying to avoid him but those OT3s that they used to have with Gluten and his other Nice Guy Friend, Sandwich, are really great. Basically, as long as Gluten is the primary antagonist, I will probably chuckle gleefully and slightly bitterly over my rice crackers and fake cheese.

I don't have a lot to add to this request (which does not mean I wouldn't love a fic about this fandom just as much!) But really, this a fandom you can go absolutely wild in. Well, I will side-eye you if you try to make Gluten a SYMPATHETIC VILLAIN, because GLUTEN IS EVIL, obviously. Optional details are optional and you should feel free to write whatever you want. Hell, maybe Gluten crosses universes to fuck with everyone. That sounds like something Gluten would do, the bastard. Gluten does like to sneak in places Gluten doesn't belong (STOCK WHY WOULD GLUTEN BE IN CHICKEN STOCK) after all.

 She-Ra: Princess Of Power   (She-Ra | Princess Adora, He-Man | Prince Adam (She-Ra),  Catra (She-Ra))

    Ships I sail: Adam/Adora, Adora/Catra, Adam/Catra. Ships I don't sail: Adora/SeaHawk, Adam/Teela, Adora/Glimmer.

Basically, Adora is my One, True Character and I would love to see her fleshed out more. For gen options, maybe have her adjusting to palace and princess life, either during vacations or after the war has been one on Etheria. For shippy options, I would be okay with either deviant twincest or conflicted enemy relationships between either Adam or Adora and Catra (or between Adam/Adora and Adora/Catra, if you want to write that.) I am really okay with gen or shippy fic in all my prompts, but especially this one.

First: Please feel free to write all the gen fic that you want for this request! I am not trying to twist your arm in order to get incest fic. I would be really interested in some of the things that the show didn't/couldn't address, especially as they relate to Adora trying to find her place. Maybe you want to redeem Catra. Maybe you want to have Adam have failed in bringing his sister over to the Side of Good, but was able to bring Catra. Maybe you want to tell the whole story from Catra's POV. Maybe you want to tell it from Swift Wind's POV - noticing the changes in his person based on when she is spending time in Eternia/with Catra/with Adam, etc.

That said, if you want to write me ship fic, I will be very happy about that, too! I am here for bitter hatesex between enemies, conflicted sex with a sister's enemy, deviant twincest, and OT3s that include all of the above.

Push (2009)  (Cassie Holmes, Nick Gant)

So, I ship it. It hits all of my "you and me against the world" bullet proof kinks. I also just really adore the fact that Nick has a clear amount of respect for her. If you want to write shippy fic, that's awesome! Feel free to age her up to wherever you feel is appropriate, but I personally don't think that two people who are breaking every other law on the planet are going to feel obligated to make sure she is 18, which isn't even the law of consent in every country they are going to be in. If you don't want to write ship fic, that's fine! I would love an expansion of this world and want it means to have powers there. Crossovers are always good. Future fic is always good. (I'm cool if you don't want to ship them, but please don't ship them with anyone else.)

First: Please don't bash any of the other women in this movie. Don't have any of them secretly being evil or out to kill Cassie as competition for Nick's affection.

Secondly, wow, that comment about ages needs some clarifying. I really respect the fact that you may want her to be 18 if you want to write ship fic. THAT IS GREAT AND OKAY. But I have read fic where Nick spends the entire fic going on about how he can't because she isn't 18 (while she is between 16-17) and it feels like an author concern. It never feels like a genuine character concern, because they are fighting a war here, and they are doing a lot worse than having sex at 16 with an older dude. So you can make her 50 years old before anything happens if you want, just don't make it something that the characters go on and on about because THEY HAD TO WAIT !!!! (This does not mean that I want them to be fucking while she's 13, because I do not.)

If you want to write gen fic, that's awesome! Maybe you want to explore the relationship between Cassie and her mom? Maybe you want to tell me bout Nick's mom? Maybe you want to a/u it up and make Cassie and Nick mutants in the Marvel universe and experiencing mutant oppression there? Maybe you want to deal with the ramifications of Cassie's visions getting stronger/more powerful. Maybe you just want to write fic about being holed up in a shitty hotel without a/c in the middle of summer and dear god, is it the Visions or Nick's shitty taste in television giving her a headache?

Captain America and the Falcon (2004 Comic)  (Sam Wilson (Cap and Falcon))

SAM. SAM SAM SAM. The degree that I love Sam Wilson should really only be reserved for people who actually exist, but alas. He is pretty much the greatest, and the friendship that he and Cap share is my favorite friendship in all of comics. I do not care if you set your Sam Wilson fic in this comic or in another point in his timeline. Set it during this comic's timeline, during the time that he is babysitting his best friend's other best friend, or at some point in the future, where they all learn that Tony Stark and the Illuminati casually mind-raped Steve Rogers in New Avengers 3. Social Worker Sam is my favorite, so any references to that are also loved. Ships I sail: Sam/Sharon, Sam/Steve, Sam/Bucky, Sam/Sharon/Steve/Bucky, Sam/Leila.

Yeah, the amount of love I have for Sam Wilson is not entirely healthy. I liked this series perfectly well, but I don't actually care if your Sam Wilson story comes from this time period in canon or not. I adore him a LOT. If Steve Rogers did not exist, he would easily be my favorite character. If you want to read more of my squee/thoughts on Sam Wilson, you can browse his tag on my tumblr. I care very little when this story takes place. You can even tell me a story about Sam's childhood, if you want. A/us are great! I would prefer you ignore the pimp retcon, just as canon does. When it's referred to at all these days, "Snap" is usually referred to as being involved in racketeering, and that is 100% less awful than the stupid fucking pimp retcon.

Things I love about Sam Wilson: He's a SOCIAL WORKER. He is incredibly loyal to Steve, while being 100% capable of seeing all of Steve's flaws. He is an equal partner and friend and not a sidekick. He registered only so he could give HIS BEST FRIEND the right send off (and sure as fuck didn't put Steve back into the arctic like other ASSHOLES.)

If you want to do current canon, that is fine. Maybe show me a bit of Sam's reaction to Sharon's death, because they were very close, and Remender doesn't seem interested in telling that story. If you wanted to do something more upbeat in recent canon, Sam mentoring Rikki (NOT DEAD), Eli, or Prodigy could be amazing. Or write the A/u where Sam was a full time teacher at Avengers Academy, because if you have a group of Avengers being responsible for children, you should maybe actually include someone whose job includes dealing with them.  If you want to go with the story in the Cap and Falcon series, that's awesome! Sam went through a lot of shit in this story. Tell me how he deals.

zarabithia: (Default)
Hi, there, writer!

Basically, I signed up for this because I love tropes, so tropes in any of my fandoms is a good thing! I also believe that optional details are optional a LOT.

That said, if you're looking to tailor the fic, here are some guidelines for my quirks:

On crossovers/fusions:

I only checked this box for one of my fandoms, but you are actually welcome to use them for any of the fandoms. I like crossovers a lot. I like fusions even more than proper crossovers.

Kinks Dealbreakers:

-Dealbreaker: I can't read m/f kink fic where the female is in the submissive spot (or, even if she doesn't think of herself that way, where she is getting spanked by a man, for exam.) This is not a value judgement on any women who have this kink! But I can't read it for personal reasons. I can read m/f kink where the female character is not in the submissive spot.

-Dealbreaker: I can't read any m/f rape fic where the female is the rape survivor.

- Not a dealbreaker, but I don't really care about: puppy play, excretion fic (I've read some lovely watersports fic, though), high school a/u, coffee shop a/u

That being said, I otherwise love any kink that you want to give me for any type of pairing. I enjoy everything from non-con to fluffy cuddling on the couch. So on the subject of kinks, I am pretty easy please.

In truth, any of the freeform tags are freeform tags that I would enjoy for any of the fandoms. I was just restricted to ten, so ... feel free to mix and mach on those.

-Dealbreakers: Steve/Tony, Kate/Whitney Frost, Clint/Coulson, Bucky/Natasha for Marvel (616 and MCU). Pepper/Happy for the MCU. For Pacific Rim, Chuck/anyone is a deal breaker.

-Dealbreaker: I don't want to read about how a character is suddenly gay or a lesbian when they have demonstrated sexual attraction to someone of a different gender in canon. This always feels like bierasure to me, and I'm sure that's just because I am a bitter bisexual, but if Steve is suddenly telling me that he's so happy to wake up gay in the 21st century, I'm going to close the fic tab. He could love men a lot and I'm quite happy to see him written as queer. In fact, he never reads as heterosexual to me. But he could be happy to wake up bisexual in the 21st century.

- Favorites: I am a multi-shipper. This fic of mine should give you an idea how much I multi-ship, but basically, I ship almost everything. That being said, I do have some favs, which you are of course free to ignore, because I ship all the things. Be it het, slash, femslash or poly, I ship it.

Favs include:

Pacific Rim:

Herc/Stacker, Raleigh/Mako, Mako crossing universes and having sex with everyone because she is great. Man, it's going to feel like I don't love Pacific Rim as much as I do the others, but that is false, because I adore Pacific Rim. You can see my tumblr tag for more proof that I adore.

Marvel 616: Ahaha, but where do I start?
Kate: I ship her with David Alleyne, Cassie Lang, Clint Barton, Natasha Romanova, Bobbi Morse, Sharon Carter. I also ship her with Kaldur from Young Justice, if you are so inclined. Kate/Mako could be amazing, if you wanted.

Clint: Kate/Clint, Clint/Bucky, Clint/Steve are my main OTPs. I like Bobbi/Clint in the past tense, so if you wanted to go old school, that'd be cool.

Steve: Sharon, Sam, Clint, Bucky, Wanda, Bernie. Poly Steve and Bucky is probably my favorite.

Natasha: I ship her with Kate, Bobbi (IT'S CANON DAMMIT), Steve, Sam Wilson, and Elektra. I can be convinced to ship Kate/Natasha/Clint. :)

Marvel Cinematic Universe:

Steve: All the ships I mentioned above! Also, Rhodey, Pepper, Howard, Bruce, Darcy, Peggy, Sif, Jane, Melinda May, Jemma Simmons, Nick Fury, and Thor. All various combinations thereof.

Bucky: Steve, Sam, Clint, Sharon, Darcy, Rhodey, Pepper, Howard, Peggy. Also, if you wanted to casually drop Kate into this world, I ship it. Bucky/Sif could be intriguing.

Pepper: Pepper/Tony, Pepper/Rhodey, Pepper/Rhodey/Tony, Pepper/Natasha. Pepper/any of the ladies from Agents of SHIELD would be amazing.

Rhodey: it is my headcanon that Rhodey and tony had a thing at MIT. Yes, I know Tony was underage. I don't care. In general, I ship Rhodey with Tony, Pepper, Steve, and Sam. My kingdom for Rhodey/Pepper/Steve or Rhodey/Steve/Sam.

Howard: Steve, Peggy, Maria, Bucky, Nick Fury, and all combinations thereof.

So, this is a combined 3_ships and Yuletide Letter, because much of the information is the same.

So, whether you are my 3 Ships Sailor or my Yuletide Writer, Hello! Thank you for writing me a fic about my favorite characters! Feel free to check out my five acts post or other dear challenge writer letters if you need more of my ramblings.

First up, general information! Likes/Dislikes/Squicks )

And now for Yuletide:

It should go without saying: I love all of these fandoms equally, and I will be equally thrilled to receive any of them. I may ramble more about some than others, but that doesn't mean I love any of them more than others. Also, I am a very FIRM believer in Optional Details are Optional, so feel free to ignore!

About the fandoms and requests )

Well, that was long! Now on to 3 ships!

So! Let me just say that I suck at the requested story element. Feel free to ignore it. ALSO, just as above, I adore all of these fandoms and ships equally, so if I ramble more about one than the other, that's not because I don't adore them.

You guys, I am never going to narrow my 3_ship signup down to one Avengers Movieverse threesome.  I SHIP IT ALL.

ALSO, HI THERE, FEMSLASH 12 WRITER! Sorry this is late! I hope it still helps?

Dear Yuletide Writer,

Hi! Thanks for writing me a story! First, I apologize for the length of this letter. I am a wordy woman. I hope it is helpful. If not, optional details are optional!  If you want to get to know me better and don't want to wander through 6  years of journal entries, you can check out my previous Dear Writer letters or My Tumblr.

3-ships assignments are out! I have the best assignment! :) :) :)

And now for the poor soul who got stuck with my weird ass shipping preferences:

Dear 3 Ships Sailor,

Hi, and thanks for writing a story for me! :) You're writing me a threesome in one of my fandoms, which are pretty small fandoms compared to what people usually ask for, so that automatically makes you awesome!  I've included the following because I always find "dear author" letters helpful. You can also check my past dear challenge writer letters, if you are stumped. Or you can check out my Five Acts Post.

Hey, [community profile] 3_ships Sailor:

The bad news is that you got a lot of crack threesome requests. The other bad news is that I am in the middle of an epic redo of my tags, so they may or may not be helpful. :( The good news is that I'm pretty easy to please. Really. :)

Dear Yuletide Writer,

First of all, you are awesome. Secondly, I hope I didn't scare you off too badly with my requests. I am actually pretty easy to please, and as always, optional details are optional! So just have fun, and I'm sure I'll enjoy your fic. I'm just pleased to get a fic in one of my fandoms.

Yuletide YAY! )

Dear [livejournal.com profile] 3_ships writer:

First off, thank you for writing a fic for me. I am sure that I will love it, regardless of what you write. Also, I apologize for my prompts. The "one requested fic element" for this ficathon always gives me trouble. Feel free to ignore the prompts, if something better inspires you for the pairings. What's helpful for me in ficathons is knowing what squicks people in general, and what they like about the fandoms they've picked, so those are the things I've included.

Hello, [livejournal.com profile] 3_ships writer! First of all: please know that I will be pleased with whatever you write. Thank you for writing a story in one of my fandoms. I apologize if my crack pairings made you say "Wtf?" but I promise it wasn't on purpose.

Also? My requested story elements were lame. I'm sorry. Please feel free to ignore those if you have a better idea, and I'm sure you do.

I've done Yuletide for three years, so if you want to click on the yuletide tag that will probably give you a better idea of what makes me happy and what makes me decidedly unhappy.

The good news is that I'm very hard to squick, in the normal sense of the word. Honestly, I was reading non-con/rape/slavery Star Trek: TOS fan fic at the impressionable age of 13, so squicking me with sexual kinks is...not likely. And yes, feel free to take that as a challenge.  I like all sorts of fetishes (including BDSM, edge play, etc.) non-con, dub-con, dark fic, angst fic, crack, alternate universes (I love a/us, actually, for which I shall always blame Star Trek. I was only 4 or 5 when I saw my first re-run of Mirror, Mirror, but damn if it didn't mess me up for life.) I can handle watersports. I have read well written stories which could probably qualify as bestiality, too, so if that's your thing, go for it. Scat I have never read, though honestly? If you want to write it and have a plot for it? I'd read it...and probably not be terribly squicked. I do request if you do any type of BDSM, I like the women in control. This is merely a personal preference, and I do not have a long feminist diatribe against fictionally submissive women, I just will always prefer an Poison Ivy to a Harley Quinn in my stories. (Obviously in the cases of two women, only one of them can be in control, and one has to be submissive to the other, and that is fine.)

On the other hand? I love fluff and happy fics, too.

My "squicks," are actually much more fandom specific, so allow me to ramble about each fandom a little bit, and what I love and what I am not as fond of.

And here where I ramble...
